Lulwah Al-Homoud wurde in Riad geboren und studierte Soziologie an der King Saud University, gefolgt von einem MA am Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
Al-Homoud hat beim pakistanischen Kalligrafen Rasheed Butt gelernt. Ihre Inspiration kommt vom ägyptischen Kalligrafen Ahmed Moustafa.
Al-Homoud verwendet arabische Buchstaben, um mit geometrischen Formen und gemischten Medien komplexe abstrakte Muster auf Papier zu erstellen. Sie war Co-Kuratorin und stellte 2008 in der Ausstellung Edge of Arabia in der Brunei Gallery of SOAS, University of London, aus. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in Ausstellungen in China, Korea, New York, Paris, Deutschland, der Schweiz, Saudi-Arabien, Dubai, Bahrain und Beirut gezeigt. 2015 hatte sie eine Einzelausstellung im Sharjah Calligraphy Museum.
1999 – 2000 machte Sie ihren MA in Kommunikationsdesign (Fachgebiet Islamische Kunst) am Central St Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London
1994 – 1997 Schloss Sie Ihren BA mit Cum Laude (Honors) in Visuelles Kommunikationsdesign (Grafikdesign) am American College, London ab. 2007 arbeitete Sie mit dem British Museum an einem Vermittlungsprojekt für arabische/islamische Kunst. 2012 wurde Sie zur Feier zum 300-jährigen Jubiläum von Meissner Porzellan, Deutschland eingeladen teilzunehmen. Sie ist die Designerin vieler Logos, einschließlich des Logos des saudi-arabischen Pavillons, und Designerin von 118 kalligrafischen Wandpaneelen im saudischen Pavillon der Weltausstellung, Shanghai 2010.
